Romanian witches to use 'cat poo, dead dog' curse on country's taxmen

It's bizarre way of protesting against taxes, and a bit scary too - Romanian witches are threatening to use cat excrement and dead dogs to cast spells on the country's government, for introducing taxes on those practicing the paranormal.
They went to the country's southern plains and the Danube river yesterday and hurled the poisonous mandrake plant into the river to cast a spell "so evil will befall them" said a witch named Alisia, reports the Independent.
"What is there to tax, when we hardly earn anything? The lawmakers don't look at themselves, at how much they make, their tricks; they steal and they come to us asking us to put spells on their enemies," she added.
The Romanian labour code did not include less mainstream professions of witch and astrologer earlier, but according to the new law they will pay 16 per cent income tax and make contributions to health and pension programmes.
Queen witch Bratara Buzea, 63, who was imprisoned in 1977 for witchcraft under Ceausescu's regime, is furious about the new law. She said that she planned to cast a spell using a particularly effective concoction of cat excrement and dead dog, accompanied by a chorus of witches.
"We do harm to those who harm us. They want to take the country out of this crisis using us? They should get us out of the crisis because they brought us into it," she said.

Astrologer tries to molest girl seeking divine help

The police on Monday arrested an astrologer and “exorcist” from Jamalpur for molesting an 18-year-old girl in Ahmedabad.
According to the police, Alam Mohammad Salam Mohammad Pathan (25), a native of Aurangabad in Maharashtra, has been running an astrology centre in Jamalpur for the last three months.
He used to lure young girls into adopting his “curative”measures for improving their personal lives, the police said.
In this case, Pathan allegedly asked the victim, a resident of Chandkheda, to meet him in the night.
The victim wanted to get married to her boyfriend and had sought the astrologer’s advice for a successful married life.
Pathan reportedly took the girl in a room at the back of his house where he tried to molest her. Pathan has been booked for attempt to rape and duping.

Witchcraft Legal Profession in Romania

Romania has declared witchcraft legal as a profession. Things have come a long way for the practice since the days that witches were burned at the stake for practicing the profession. However, some who practice witchcraft are not happy about the change.
Why are people upset that Romania declared witchcraft legal? Apparently people who perform witchcraft services will now have to pay taxes. The government is actually cracking down on tax evasion, and witchcraft is joined by astrology, embalming, valet parking and driving instructors as new groups that must pay taxes. It is not surprising that governments are looking for ways the increase revenue during the poor economy, and declaring certain jobs legal professions seems to be a good way to collect more money.
The legalization of witchcraft has been hotly debated in the region, and many witches have protested. Since Romania declared witchcraft legal, one witch named Bratara has plans to retaliate using black pepper and yeast to cast a spell that will create discord in the government. If she is successful, will Romania change the new law? It is hard to tell. Hopefully the lawmakers will not succumb to the people who practice witchcraft. If other people who work have to pay taxes, then so should they.
